ICCWS 2026 - New Zealand, Pure Innovation

We are thrilled to announce New Zealand as the 2026 host of the International Cool Climate Wine Symposium.

We can’t wait to welcome you to New Zealand. The first place in the world to see the sun. A country of firsts, where new thinking leads to great innovation. The home of breath-taking scenery, where our love and respect for the land results in the freshest produce, and the finest wine.

Following in the footsteps of Brock University’s ICCWS22 success, the NZ Society for Viticulture and Oenology aim to provide an immersive and engaging conference that incorporates the leaders, motivators and innovators of our industry.

Some 200 years ago the first grapevines were planted in New Zealand soil. Since then, we’ve cultivated our love of the land and combined it with New Zealand’s innovative spirit and the latest research and technology to create a wine industry that is fast-growing and flourishing. One of Pure Innovation.

About ICCWS:

Established in 1984, the International Cool Climate Wine Symposium brings a community of international scientists and industry professionals together to focus on issues surrounding the production of wine in cool climates.

These meetings have become key events for the international grape and wine industry, where front-line research and innovative techniques have been presented, many wines have been tasted and enduring friendships and research partnerships established.

The ICCWS covers all aspects of cool climate winemaking, from vine to glass to consumer, and provides delegates with a platform to discuss the latest research, exchange information and network with other wine producers, and to taste some spectacular examples of the wines from the host country.
