The current executive of NZSVO comprises Glen Creasy (chair) Rengasamy Balasubramaniam, Evan Ward, David Jordan, Jenny Dobson, Nick Sage, Tricia Jane, Dennis Robinson and Gerard Logan.  These members have put their names forward for re-election.

The society is looking for new committee members and invites prospective executive members to fill in the nomination form and either bring it to the meeting or fax or post to the Executive Officer.

The main role of committee members is to assist in the development and running of workshops.

PROPOSED CONSTITUTION CHANGES

The Constitution hasn't been updated since it was ratified when NZSVO was formed.  There are a number of changes that we would like to make.  Link to document with the proposed changes and their justification. 

If you are unable to attend the AGM and you would like to make a submission or comment  on any of these proposed changes please email details to executive officer  to arrive by Monday 21 November 2011.

GENERAL BUSINESS

If you have any suggestions as to the direction of the society or additional activities that you would like discussed at the AGM or by the incoming committee please email details to executive officer to arrive by Monday 21 November 2011.

SOCIETY NEWS

SOCIETY ACTIVITIES IN 2011

The proposed two day Wine Industry Technical Conference, planned for June in Christchurch, was cancelled due to the February earthquake.

Stuart Dudley, winner of the 2010 NZSVO travel grant awarded as part of Markhams Young Viticulturist of the Year, toured South America and Europe earlier this year.  Stuart's report will be circulated to members, via the NZSVO web page.

Nick Paulin from Central Otago was awarded the 2011 travel grant for winning the 2011 Markhams Young Viticulture Award.

Rod Chittenden was awarded the NZSVO 2011 travel grant to attend the 8th International Cool Climate Symposium (ICCS), 31 January to 4 February 2012, Hobart, Tasmania.  

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

 A one day technical workshop will be held in Blenheim on Wednesday, 22 August.  This is the day before the 2012 Romeo Bragato Workshop commences.
