We have had ongoing problems with our web page and electronic newsletter.  These have been resolved and this information will resume shortly.

The First New Zealand Wine Industry Technical Conference - Christchurch June, 2011

Planning was well underway for this two day conference to be held in Christchurch in June 2011 when the disastrous February quake struck.  Rather than shift the conference to another venue it was decided to postpone it until 2012.  The conference will probably be held in early July in a venue yet to be decided.  Information will be notified on this site and by email newsletter.

8th International Cool Climate Symposium (ICCS)

31 January to 4 February 2012, Hobart, Tasmania

Organised by Wine Tasmania, the Australian Wine Research Institute and the Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research

NZSVO Travel Awards

Two grants were made, to Randy Weaver and Ruby Andrew, to attend the 7th International Symposium on Cool Climate Viticulture and Enology and the ASEV National Conference, June 20-25, 2010 in Seattle, Washington.

NZSVO hosted the 2nd International Symposium on Cool Climate Viticulture and Oenology in Auckland 1988 and 6th International Symposium on Cool Climate Viticulture and Oenology in Christchurch 2006.

The committee agreed to sponsor a travel grant to the winner of the Markhams Young Viticulture Award.  The 2010 winner was Stuart Dudley.  Stuart will be travelling overseas shortly.
