Fifth International Table Grape Symposium
14 -16 November 2007, Stellenbosch, South Africa

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME
The programme will include keynote presentations by invited speakers, oral presentations and posters on the following topics concerning table and raisin grapes:
 
1.  Dormancy, growth regulators, nutrition, fertilisation, fertigation and irrigation
2.  Training-trellis systems, pruning and canopy management
3.  Breeding, biotechnology and pathology
4.  Pest and disease control
5.  Packaging and post-harvest quality management
6.  Production costs, economics and market trends


In addition two technical field trips will be organised.  The Pre-symposium technical field trip will be a one day tour to Paarl and the Hex River area where vineyards (6 – 8mm berry size) will be visited.  The Post-symposium technical field trip will be a 3 day tour to the summer rainfall area (Northern Cape, Upington) where the producers will be packing grapes already
