Getting to grips with Pinot Noir - a look at Pinot Noir tannin management
Speaker Profile
Jules Taylor

Group Senior Winemaker for Constellation NZ
After deciding that cutting up animals was not really her cup of tea, Jules embarked on a career in winemaking. What more could a girl want, no ironing of clothes before work and being able to drive the forklift! Not to mention, a career that produces a product that makes others happy….
As a born and bred Marlburian, the forever changing seasons in the wine-growing industry have never been far from Jules’ view. Since graduating with a Post Graduate Diploma in Winemaking and Viticulture, Jules has spent time wandering the world visiting and working in many of the other wine making regions. 3 vintages in Piemonte, 5 in Sicily (under the direction of Kym Milne MW), 2 in Australias Hunter Valley and one in the Yarra. Chuck in 14 vintages in Marlborough and she starts to sound like an old tart! More recently, Jules has been the winemaker for Kim Crawford wines and after the merging of the Nobilo Wine Group and Kim Crawford Wines production staff, she has assumed the role of Group Senior Winemaker for Constellation NZ. Jules is responsible for the technical winemaking at the companies’ 3 wineries in Hawkes Bay and Marlborough.
When not working, Jules likes to spend time moonlighting making Jules Taylor Wines and with her husband and two young sons. On sunny, wind-less days she enjoys riding her bike in the paradise she calls ‘home’
